CAF AIRSHO 2015, Presented by Frost Bank,
Welcomes the USAF Thunderbirds!
Midland, Texas- Dec. 11, 2014 The Commemorative Air Force (CAF) is thrilled to announce that the headlining act for the 2015 CAF AIRSHO will be the USAF Thunderbirds. The annual AIRSHO will be held Aug. 29 and 30 at the Midland International Airport and Spaceport.
"We are thrilled to welcome the USAF Thunderbirds back to Midland after a 14 year hiatus. Each year since 2001 we have requested them and our persistence has finally paid off. We know the Permian Basin will love seeing these exceptional military aviators demonstrate precision flying at speeds up to 600 mph!" said CAF President Stephan C. Brown
The Thunderbirds are the U.S. Air Forces’ premier air demonstration team and an official squadron of the Air Force. The team includes six highly trained pilots, performing precision aerial maneuvers that exhibit the maximum capabilities of the F-16 Fighting Falcon in a mix of formation flying.
“I am so excited the Thunderbirds are back at our show!” said AIRSHO Director Gena Linebarger. “AIRSHO has become a family tradition for locals, but also brings fans from all over the world to Midland. This is our 52nd AIRSHO and it’s amazing how much this volunteer-produced show has grown over the years, with more performers, exhibits and tributes that bring history to life,” Linebarger continued.
This, and future CAF AIRSHOs will be hosted by the High Sky Wing, Midland’s local CAF Unit. The show will continue to feature vintage aircraft from the CAF, including the B-29 FIFI. The 2015 CAF AIRSHO will have a special recognition and tribute to honor the 70th anniversary of the end of World War II.
Other highlights include a special segment recognizing the 40th anniversary of the end of the Vietnam War. Aircraft from the conflict including a unique flying tribute to veterans of Vietnam.

CAF AIRSHO presented by Frost Bank, is a production of the Commemorative Air Force, a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. The event is organized and executed by hundred of volunteer-members of the CAF. The showfeatures rare and historic aircraft from the CAF flying fleet.
