At the Commemorative Air Force, year-round we honor and preserve military aviation history and to share the stories of the men and women behind the aircraft. We devote our time to restoring, preserving, and sharing their stories for future generations to learn from through our museums, airshows and living history flights. Veteran's Day is a special time for the members of CAF units across the nation. It's a time when the events we hold can be shared on a much larger scale.
Many CAF units participated in some type of Veteran's Day event. Here is an overview of some of those events:
Minnesota- The CAF Minnesota Wing celebrated on Saturday, Nov. 8 with an Open House and Birthday Celebration of their B-25 Miss Mitchell, who turned 70. They invited veterans of all eras to join them in the birthday celebration and to share their stories with the public.
Georgia- Veterans of the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan were invited to be honored at Peachtree City’s 2014 Veterans Day Observance hosted by the Commemorative Air Force (CAF) Dixie Wing in Peachtree City, Ga.
